The HBK team has participated in the “The Ramsar Convention for wetlands conservation and management” international seminar, MARISTANIS project, Cagliari
On 30 November 2017 the MARISTANIS project organised an international seminar entitled “The Ramsar Convention for wetlands conservation and management”.
The MARISTANIS project is an international cooperation project that aims at defining an integrated management model for the coastal wetlands in the Gulf of Oristano and Sinis Peninsula (Sardinia) as a model for other coastal regions in the Mediterranean.

Translocation of Dianthus rupicola subsp. rupicola to the Lachea islet, Catania, Sicily
Dianthus rupicola Biv. subsp. rupicola is a perennial plant growing on the sea-facing cliffs and rupestrian environments of southern Italy and Sicily. More common on the carbonatic substrates rather than on the volcanic ones, it behaves as a true chasmophyte chiefly linked to thermophilous stands. It is one of the few “policy-species” occurring in Sicily, being listed in Annex II of Directive 92/43/EEC (Habitat) and currently classified as LC in the Italian Red List (Rossi et al. 2013).

Prof. Bacchetta, from Hortus Botanicus Karalitanus - project partner in Sardinia, participated in the “International Symposium and Workshop on Native Seeds in Restoration of Dryland Ecosystems”, which took place in the State of Kuwait from 20th to 23rd November 2017.

Population reinforcement for Horstrissea dolinicola, threatened plant of Crete
A reinforcement action was carried out for the unique known population of Horstrissea dolinicola at about 1,500 m a.s.l. on Mt. Ida (Psiloritis mountain range) in central Crete.

Réintroduction de Silene velutina Loisel. sur l’îlot de Cornuta, Corse
Le silène velouté (Silene velutina) est une espèce endémique de Corse et de Sardaigne , qui a disparu de l’îlot de Cornuta (Commune de Zonza, Corse) en 2001.
