Local event of the CARE-MEDIFLORA project in Sóller Botanic Garden, Balearic Islands

A local event dedicated to the project CARE-MEDIFLORA has been carried out in Sóller Botanic Garden (JBS), in which the JBS team presents the project to the local authorities, stakeholders and media.

The event took place on March 9th 2018 and was presented by the president, the director of the foundation and the project team. The team announced the objectives of the project, with the in situ and ex situ actions developed in the Balearic Islands, through informative panels and a guided visit to the JBS facilities, and several CARE-MEDIFLORA leaflets were distributed to all participants.

The event was attended by several institutions involved in the environmental management and conservation in Balearic Islands; Species Protection Service of the Government of the Balearic Islands, environmental agents, directors of the Natural Areas where actions have been made, representatives of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) and also of the Mediterranean Institute of Advanced Studies (IMEDEA). In addition, the owners of the particular farms where the actions are carried out and the JBS volunteers also attended the event.

  
Magdalena Vicens, Joan Vidal and Jaume Seguí during the presentation of the CARE-MEDIFLORA project presented the first results carried out until then.
