During the celebrations for the 20 years of the activities of the Sardinian Germplasm Bank (BG-SAR), a local event dedicated to CARE-MEDIFLORA was realised, in which the HBK team illustrated the project to the local authorities and stakeholders.

The local event took place on 14 December 2017 and hosted several institutions involved in environmental management and conservation, among which the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, the Metropolitan City of Cagliari, the Agenzia Forestas, the local section of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) and various important Sardinian Regional Agencies. Furthermore, other scientific HBK partners contributed to explore several issues related to the plant conservation, such as the RIBES network and the Gruppo Orti Botanici e Giardini storici of the Italian Botanical Society (SBI) and several CARE-MEDIFLORA leaflets were distributed to all participants.

During the commemorative conference, which started on Thursday 14 and ended Sunday 17 December, a series of celebratory events were planned. In particular, workshops and guided tours for schools, book announcements, shows and exhibitions were held.
